Non-Destructive Estimation of the Leaf Weight and Leaf Area in Common Bean

چکیده
Regression models to predict leaf area and weight in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) were fitted using the three leaflets of leaves. A total 1504 leaves from 40 genotypes collected, covering a large range sizes. Width, length, area, measured for each leaflet. The was obtained by sum left, central, right leaflets. dataset randomly divided into training validation sets. set used model fitting selection, obtain statistics prediction ability. modeled different linear regression based on length width Polynomial regressions involving both leaflet provided very good estimate expected (R2 = 0.978) 0.820)

Leaf area estimation by a simple and non-destructive method
In this study, the relation between leaf area and its dimensions was estimated using a non-destructive method. This method is based on this fact that the leaf shape does not change during the growing season. In this method, leaf area during the growing season is estimated based on the dimensions of the smallest leaf in the initial stage of plant growth or at any growth stage by measuring the le...
متن کاملan estimation of individual leaf area in cabbage and broccoli using non-destructive methods
accurate and nondestructive methods to determine individual leaf areas of plants are useful tools in physiological and agronomic research. a determination of the individual leaf area (la) of such species in brassicaceae family as red cabbage (brassica oleracea var. cappitata l. f. rabra), cabbage (brassica oleracea var. cappitata l. f. alba) and broccoli (brassica oleracea var. italica l.) ...
متن کاملNon-destructive leaf area measurement in maize (Zea mays L.).
In this research, leaf area prediction model was developed for some leaf-used maize (Zea mays L.) cultivars namely Coluna, Luce, Maveric, Ranchero, TTM-813, Zamora and RX-788 grown in Black Sea region of Turkey. Lamina width, length and leaf area were measured without destroying the leaf to develop the models. The actual leaf areas of the plants were measured by PLACOM Digital Planimeter and mu...
متن کاملNon-destructive linear model for leaf area estimation in Vernonia ferruginea Less.
Leaf area estimation is an important biometrical trait for evaluating leaf development and plant growth in field and pot experiments. We developed a non-destructive model to estimate the leaf area (LA) of Vernonia ferruginea using the length (L) and width (W) leaf dimensions. Different combinations of linear equations were obtained from L, L2, W, W2, LW and L2W2. The linear regressions using th...
